01/09/07. Terrific Tuesday Games. Fort Lorntson, Moore Lake LTF. Courts 5 and 6. 1900-2130.

The VRB fans were treated to an exhibition match between V-Champ versus Justin Smith on local Channel 4! V-Champ was not happy with her plays. V told Doc MM, "I could have played better because it would be on the internet and television!" …After the exhibition match on local Channel 4, the Main RB Event got underway, the battle for the Golden Tricycle between the Golden Tricycle Champion Big Dan Lefty versus Doc MM.

Cindy Kitchen: Doc MM, what is your plan tonight to reclaiming the GT?

Doc MM: I have to….

VRB fans (interrupted Doc MM in mid-sentence): Go Doc MM! Get the GT back!

Doc MM (smiles): pause…pause…pause…Well, I realized that I have to be confident and work on both back corners. In the last mach, I did not hit enough shots in the left abyss and Big Dan Lefty only had to be concern about serves to his backhand in the right abyss and I think that made it easier on his return game. I’m only to mix it up a bit tonight and see what happen CK.

In game number one, the two RB warriors blasted deep passes and displayed many incredible gets in seriatim to impressed the young VRB female fans in the front row! Doc MM’s deep photon missiles and deadpan front court pinch rekills netted an early 9-4 lead. In the middle of the game, both players committed a tragedy of unforced errors that made some VRB fans booed. Doc MM righted his RB ship with several photon rips to win 11-5. Doc MM 11, Big DL 5.

Game number two was a virtual racquetball slugfest! Doc MM and Big DL ran each other ragged with deep passes every which ways and more for dynamic ties of 3-3, 4-4, and 5-5! Then Big DL started to play some marvelous gets and re-kill high percentage racquetball to take a dominating 10-5 lead! Some of the VRB pundits could be heard saying, "This match’s going to a game four folks!" Big DL left up a pass just enough off the backwall and it was a mini-buffet for Doc MM and Doc MM whip lashed a backhand down the line winner to retake the box! Doc MM played some of the best rear guard action racquetball this side of the continental divide! Doc MM served up a silo of deep scorching missiles to both abysses for advantageous rallies. Doc MM served and shoots and made his own amazing quick footed gets to tie it all up at 10-10! Big DL upped his game with many bullet passes and marvelous gets for several more sideouts. Doc MM got to 11-10. Big DL tied it up at 11-11. Doc MM got to 12-11. Big DL tied it up again at 12-12 behind another inspired long multiple shots rally with Big DL chasing down Doc MM’s missile blasts and cleaning up in the front court! The big man seemed to tired somewhat at the end and Doc MM served and shoots to win 14-12. Doc MM 14, Big DL 12.

In game number three, the two racquetball combatants started out slow with several deep rips and feathery deep ceilings and the score was knotted at 3-3 and 5-5. Then Doc MM upped his game with a torrent rainstorm of photon deep missile passes and flat lethal front court pinches to win 11-5! Doc MM reclaims the GT!! Long live the new GT Champion Doc MM! Doc MM 11, Big DL 5.

VRB fans: Long live the new GT Champion Doc MM!!!

Cindy Kitchen: Doc MM, how does it feel to finally get the GT back after losing it two days in a row?

Doc MM: First of all, hats off to my fabulous opponent Big Dan Lefty, he gave it all he had in every game and especially in that barn burner game number two! It was anybody’s match at that point.

CK: Doc MM, what were thinking when you were up 11-10 in the second game and Dan kept coming back and tying up the score at 11-11 and 12-12?!

Doc MM: Initially, I was very frustrated with my shot selection, but I told myself to buckle down and get the serve back because I still had the one point edge and I was one point away from taking a dominating 2 games to zero lead in this best out of five games match.

CK: Game two was a pivotal game then.

Doc MM: Cindy, every shots, every game is pivotal. At our expert level, you have to play hard and focus every point.

CK: Your strategy of going to the left back corner works tonight.

Doc MM: Right Cindy, I served enough missiles to that left back corner to make him play me honest with his returns. The fact that I was able to score a few points on that side helped my offense a lot. I mean, in our last match, I just served to his backhand in the right back corner and he started to groove on his backhand and his ceiling and passes were good enough on his backhand side that he took a lot of my offense away from me last time.

CK: Excellently played match Doc MM!

Doc MM: Thank you to all of my fans and my opponent Dan Lefty for another spectacular match!

VRB fans: Doc MM! Doc MM!

Other Games:

The rooky Justin Righty has added a new niffy photon drives to his offensive racquetball arsenal and played well against Doc MM. However, Doc MM obviously has more offensive weapons and Doc MM won in two straight 11-4 and 11-2….Big JW played some inspiring high percentage racquetball and led Doc MM early in their first game 7-3!! However, Doc MM turned up the racquetball thermostat to a balmy temperature with deep missile rips and lassoed in a come from behind win by the score of 11-7. Doc MM 11, JW 7….Big DL defeated JW in two straight…..Big DL defeated the rooky JR in two straight.

JW won three straight over the rooky JR.

In the last game of the night up to 21 points, JW edged out Doc MM by the score of 21-19 with a boring brand of racquetball that made more than half of the VRB fans fall asleep in their seats! JW served up excellent deep Z-lobs into the left abyss and finished setups with his "Good" backhand to win 21-19! Good plays JW yelled the VRB fans! JW 21, Doc MM 19.
