01/11/07. Terrific Thursday Games. Scratch Auditorium, St.
Louis Park LTF. Courts 1-3. 1900-2115. Big Dan Lefty
and Doc MM pounded each other senseless with heavy racquetball bombs for five
full games. When the smoke cleared Big DL reclaimed the GT by the scores of
7-11, 11-6, 11-3, 6-11 and 11-6.
The Head VRB Pundit Joel Warrior was grinning devilishly when
he said, "Hey, I thought it was double elimination on Thursday night? What’s
this best out of five games rule change? I should have known?" Doc MM tried to
explain that Big DL won the best out of three games and it was Big DL that chose
to play a fourth and fifth game, since Big DL already won the GT.
Other Games:
Joel Warrior played some inspiring racquetball against Doc MM
with his characteristic lethal high Z-lobs into the left abyss and gave Doc MM
two tough games! Doc MM barely edged out the big man 11-8 and 11-9! Yikes! Good
high percentage racquetball big JW! Awesome RBs!
Big Chad "The Closet" Righty crowded his way to a victory over
Doc MM 11-6 and 2 out of 3 games against Big DL.
Doc MM opened up his part time Donut Shop and the rooky Justin
Righty and Old Mike Righty were the first two customers of the night to sample
Doc MM’s hot and spicy VRB donuts fresh off the VRB Donuts Grillo! Doc MM used a
medium paced Z-lob to Old MR’s backhand in the left abyss to give him a tasty
pasty treat and Doc MM used the medium paced Z-lobs to the rooky Justin Righty’s
forehand in the right abyss to serve up a big whooping sugary confection for the
rooky JR!
New player Chad Righty joined the VRB crew and tasted RBs
battles with Chad the Closet Righty, JW and Big DL.
Old Mike Righty defeated the rooky Justin Righty 4 out of 5
games.
Old Mike Righty as usual has JW’s number and won again in
their sole individual RB encounter.
Sidenotes: Fireball Mark is away in
LA for business. John Wilinski is out tonight teaching an anger management
class. Uma’s still working on yet another project for "The Man." Uma promised
that "after this project that he’ll get back to playing racquetball." The Head
VRB pundits, Doc MM and the rest of the VRB fans just laughed and said, "Okay
Uma, you do that and we’ll see you back on the VRB Amateur Tour in about 5-10
years time." The Women Open player Stacy H. Righty never showed up, maybe she’s
still suffering from Central Courts food poisoning?
Happy New Year and holidays. The deep freeze is coming, Doc MM
was talking to Brandon Lefty earlier in the night, BL used to be one of the top
five open players in the state and highly ranked junior. BL played squash with
the legendary racquetball icon Dan Ferris!!
