01/28/07. Super Sunday VRB Games. Larson Lair, Coon Rapids LTF.
Court 2. 1430-1545. Doc MM is a sports animal
maniac! The super Doc MM’s fan Brent Lefty yells from the front VIP row, "Doc MM
is a racquetball animal!" Doc MM played basketball for 4 hours last night from
2100-0100 with Tom Burba and John Hui’s and friends! Doc MM’s legs are pretty
tired, so the VRB pundits don’t give Doc MM much of a chance against Big Mark
Lange Righty’s super high velocity photon missile drive fast balls serves! Doc
MM said, "I’m tired, but it doesn’t matter, I’m not here to win or lose or draw,
I’m here today to just play hard, get a lot of exercise and enjoy the greatest
sport in the universe with a top caliber player in Big Mark Righty! Let’s get
this racquetball show on the cusp of battle-ton!"
In game number one, Big Mark Lange
Righty had some early skipitis and Doc MM ripped passes and several pinches to
go up 11-5 and 12-8. However, Doc MM was unable to close out the game and Big
MR’s photon drives founded their abyss targets and Big MR’s forehand became
Money Forehand in the fourth quarter, Big MR rallied to win 15-13. Big MR 15,
Doc MM 13.
In game number two, Doc MM started
out full steam ahead with several fine low missile drives and front court high
percentage winners for a dominating early lead of 10-2! However, Doc MM’s
offense hit a major snag in the Big MR’s river. Big MR started to launch his
patented drives with tons of spins to win 15-10! Ouch! Doc MM was shell shocked!
What happened to Doc MM’s humongous early lead? Head pundit Joel Warrior
lamented, "Doc MM’s early lead? Evaporated like his tears off the hot Death
Valley!" Big MR 15, Doc MM 10.
In game number three, Doc MM was
determined to start hot and finish hotter and he did not disappoint the VRB
fans. Doc MM’s missile drives consistently found the back abysses and pin Big MR
deep and away from the coveted center golden box. Doc MM’s deep drives and rips
resulted in a fine high percentage win by the score of 15-5. Doc MM 15, Big MR
5.
In game number four, Big MR’s
vengeance was high and higher! Big MR’s drive went from nuclear level to cosmic
rays! Big MR’s deep high velocity drives and pounding front court setup put
aways resulted in a last game blow out! Big MR wins 15-4! Ouch! Big MR said, "I
smelled donut for a long time, but it Doc MM’s newly minted low missile drives
make it tough to entice him into eating one of my stale plain donut!" Big MR 15,
Doc MM 4.
Doc MM: Today, I had a ton of fun
playing racquetball as always with the high caliber and professional Big Mark
Lange Righty Champ! Thanks for the games Big MR!! It was a great way to spend a
frigid Minnesota day! Win, lose or draw, I didn’t really care today or any other
day, I just want to hit high percentage shots and continue to improve my game,
that’s why I hit a lot of different serves today without any thoughts of winning
or losing, it’s an excellent mindset thanks to my racquetball buddy Mike Larson
to continue to improve at the greatest game in the universe, Racquetball!!
Coon Rapids on Sunday’s afternoon is a basketball zoo! Yikes!
It’s a good thing that Big MR and Doc MM played early, because there were
several racquetball recreational players reserving courts after 1500!
