03/06/07. Terrific Tuesday VRB Games. Scratch Auditorium,
Moore Lake LTF. 1900-2115. Another packed VRB
stadium with rows upon rows of VRB fans and pundits to watch the return of Big
Dan Lefty and his quest to reclaim what is rightfully his…The Golden Trike!
Big Dan Lefty and Doc MM played it razor sharp for the first
19 points for a deadlocked 9-9 tie. The racquetball thermostat was coming to a
boil with both racquetball warriors blasting wicked missile passes and ballistic
drives to run each other into the ground. Just when the temperate reached
boiling point, Big DL blasted a forehand cross court missile and then a vicious
cross court monster drive into the right abyss to win 11-9! Big DL 11, Doc MM 9.
In game number two, Doc MM never got
any offense going and it seems like Big DL had a bead on Doc MM’s service
pattern all match long thus far! The VRB fans were hoping that Doc MM would
mount a last ditch offensive racquetball charge to maybe take this GT match to a
tiebreaker? It was not to be with Big DL blasting winners off any left up front
court plums! Big DL won 11-5 to reclaim the GT!! Big DL 11, Doc MM 5.
Head pundit JW: Wow, that was a
tough game, Big Dan Lefty has game!
The VRB fans gave Big DL a round of hearty applauses for
stopping play in game two when he was up 10-5 and taking a point away from
himself because he foot faulted! What an honest guy!
VRB fans: Big Dan Lefty rocks! Long
live the new GT King Big DL!
Other Games:
The journeyman champ Joel Warrior had, in his own words, "I
had my chances" against Big Dan Lefty. JW worked on his drive serves all night
and thus, he blasted drives after drives to play two very respectable games
against Big DL falling 9-11 and 9-11.
Tim "The Catfisherman" Righty splits games with JW.
Tim "The Catfisherman" Righty was up 10-7 against Doc MM in
their first game and forced Doc MM to stop drive serving and Doc MM reverted
back to the Joel Warrior’s evil Z-lobs to the left abyss to win 12-10!!
However, in game number two, Doc MM took out his knuckleball
medium paced Z-lobs to both abysses for an easy 11-2 win over the up and comer
TR.
TR played the new young rooky Andy Righty and won 15-4.
Doc MM played the new young rooky Andy Righty in front of his
family and won 15-3.
Funny Conversation:
JW: Hey (pointing humorously at Doc
MM), you can’t lob serve! You suggested that I hit all drive serves on Tuesday,
why are you lob serving?!
Doc MM: The suggestion was for you
champ.
JW: You can’t ask me to give up the
lob serves, that’s like giving up booze and steaks!! Yikes!
