03/13/07. Terrific Tuesday VRB Games. Lorntson Place, Moore Lake LTF. 1900-2200.

Big JW found or rather, he built a Randomizer and gave Doc MM a run for his money. Doc MM won the first game decisively 15-7. However, JW had his Randomizer humming in the second winning 15-6 to the delight of the VRB fans!! But in the tiebreaker, Doc MM’s donut scientists threw a monkey wrench into the Randomizer disrupting its intricate machineries and Doc MM ran JW around with missile passes to win 15-8.

Doc MM had an easy first game with Big Dan Lefty. Doc MM ripped missile passes and drives to win 15-4, helped out with Big DL’s several front court pokes skips. However, Doc MM was up in the second 12-10 and was unable to pull it out and Big DL mounted an effective getting and rekilling offensive blitzkrieg to win 15-12!

The guests of honor watching from the front VIP section were an old man named Dave and his daughter Mina. Doc MM showed Mina how to hit a forehand stroke earlier when JW played a barn burner with Big DL, Big DL won 15-11. JW definitely had his chances.

In the breaker, Big DL got off to a tremendous start and was up 10-5! This is a traditional tournament tiebreaker up to 11, don’t have to win by 2. It looked downright morbid for Doc MM. However, Doc MM dug down and started to play the kind of consistent high percentage racquetball that has made him GT King for a long time. Doc MM lobs deep and launched deep missile rockets to tie it up at 10-10! At 10-10, Doc MM had a chance to finish the game and the night off on a valor note, but Big DL displayed several acts of amazing incredible gets, one of them involved Big DL hitting behind him and getting the ball to the front court! Doc MM crushed it less than 3 inches and Big DL came running up and rekilled it! Big DL played hard and squeezed out an 11-10 tiebreaker to reclaim the GT by one point!! The VRB fans and JW gave both players a standing ovation for a minute.

Sidenote: No Tim Righty because he’s watching a Timberwolves game tonight. No Uma because he’s still out. Fireball Mark’s been out for awhile because the pundits said, "He’s busy at home eating all the donuts he racked up from last month." No Justin because the man runs too much and needs to rest his knees. No Vallana L and her crew for the past few weeks? I think they may have moved to St. Louis Park, since she’s the head RB pro there now.
