Who was your racquetball hero when you first started playing this sport?
I would have to definitely say Dave Peck because he was
just like one of us. He practiced and practiced and practiced and learn
from watching the pros. He became a number one ranked pro in less than
ten years.
He is an inspiration to me with his hard work ethics,
plus demonstrating how smarts and a lot of practice and experience can
help you go a long way. Anybody can do! It is all up to YOU!
I first became familiar with Dave Peck in action when
I rented out his CyberVision video tape from the library. I was
immediately impressed with his analytical approach to the game and
subsequently, I have taken the same analytical approach to the game.
There are numerous players who are much bigger and
faster than myself, but I think that adopting Dave Peck’s analytical
approach to racquetball has level the playing field for me.
What was your most
memorably racquetball moments?
I have had many memorable moments (thus far). I am
very fortunate to meet and play so many wonderful people.
I think some of my most memorable moments was watching
the ecstatic smiles from my friends when I show them something and it
improves their game immediately.
For example, I showed Big Dan Lefty that he was too
close to the left sidewall for his forehand down the line. I showed him
that if he just moved back about six inches, his forehand would stay
down the line and not hit the left sidewall.
He moved six inches away and immediately started to
hit some awesome down the line passes and his big smile was very
memorable to me. Then Big Dan Lefty used his new down the line along the
left sidewall to beat me in a game afterward - that was not
memorable. J
