Continuous Kill and Lob
Start with a short soft lob to the front
wall. Ideally the should bounce in the front part of the court. After it bounces, try
to kill the ball low to the front wall. As it comes back after the kill
or miss, get your racquet under the ball and gently lob it back again.
Continue keeping the ball in play as long as possible by alternating
lobs and kills.
This kind of continuous chase the ball plays gives
practice in kill shots from all areas of the court, help your footwork,
and gives you a good solo workout in a relatively short period of time.
It’s also more fun than stopping the ball after every kill, near-kill,
or outright miss.
Backhand versus Forehand
If you have troubles, as most players
do, changing your grip from forehand to backhand, a good additional exercise is
playing them against each other, shot for shot. It’s a kind of positive
paranoia that will score points for you in competition. Which are the
name of the game as well as the goal of this section. What’s more, if
you’re clumsy, you won’t run into anyone but yourself!
Backhand versus Forehand
Practices switching grips at the same time you are
listening to the radio or television. Making racquetball a part of your
everyday routine will improve your racquetball game by leaps and bound.
It will be like eating and sleeping. Soon you will be a lethal racquetballer in no time flat.
