Predictable shot selection
Many players have
developed a predictable "straight in" game. This means that most shots
are kills, skips, or left up kill attempts through the center court. And
often, the player has attempted to hit it as hard as s/he could, the
ball becomes playable off the back wall. The remedy is to adopt a
"Pass-Pinch." Use passes as tactics to maneuver your opponent into a
position that is vulnerable to a pinch. In addition, you may just get
some winners off the passes! But keep your shots out of the center court
and off the back wall. Try to make your shots difficult to return or
pulls your opponent to the side wall. Of course, shoot to kill if the
opportunity presents itself.
Footwork
Many players neglect the importance
of setting their feet properly to get the most from a set up. Footwork
should provide balance and allow you to generate power from your legs
and torso.
