Backwall plays
|
|
- Not enough time to hit the ball: Anticipate the path of the
ball and go to meet it-don’t follow it. You may have to run away from
the backwall as the ball is going toward the backwall.
- Can’t get to the ball fast enough, especially on angled rebounds:
Pivot like a basketball player. Watch the ball as you pivot. Remember,
the ball leaves the backwall at an angle equal to its approach angle.
Take the inside path.
- Ball rebound from backwall right at me (too close): Don’t
worry, you are in the first stages of learning the backwall play.
Quickly back away the length of your arm plus the racquet. Let the ball
drop as you do, and you will have time to play it.
