Ceiling ball

  • The ball hits the ceiling but doesn’t get to the front wall: Move your target closer to the front wall. Move your body position back farther so the ball is more in front (forward) of your body on contact. Close the face of your racquet.

  • The hits the sidewall (too far right or left): Move the target away from the sidewall toward the center line. Make sure the ball is in front of or slightly outside your shoulder and not in the center of your body or too far outside when it is contacted.

  • The ball rebounds too far off the rear wall: Hit the ball with less force-about 50 to 75 percent of full force. Also try to move your target a little closer to the front wall.

  • The ball hits the front wall-it doesn’t get to the ceiling: The ball is contacted too low or too far in front of your body. Your body should only slightly behind the ball. Open the racquet face more.

  • The ball doesn’t get deep enough to the backcourt: Hit the ball with more force. Move the target closer to the front wall.
