Drive serve

  • My drive serve lacks power: Don’t expect too much too early. That comes later when you move your weigh into the ball. Cock your wrist on the backswing and uncock your wrist on the follow through. Watch the ball closely while swinging and keep the ball farther out from you for maximum racquet extension, stay low and level throughout and hit flat and level.

  • My drive serve hits too far left of the front wall target: Drop the ball farther back from the front wall and/or farther right.

  • My drive serves are too high: Keep your knees bent throughout entire service motion. Drop the ball lower.

  • General inconsistency on drive serves: Keep your eyes on the ball. Don’t rush your swing.

  • My drive serve hits the sidewall too soon: Move the front wall target away from the corner. Drop the ball closer to your front hip. Move your body forward while swinging.

  • My drive serves hits the backwall before the second bounce: Move the target lower on the front wall. Drop the ball from a lower height and contact it lower. Keep your body lower.

  • My drive serve is too far from the sidewall: Move the target on the front wall closer to the corner. Move your starting position closer to the sidewall.
