Correcting errors
Serves, returns & rallies
|
|
- You have difficulty returning serves: Check your position. Be
sure you have not backed up into the backwall. Plan several options you
could use to return the next serve. Watch the ball and not the server’s
movement.
- Your serves are not effective: Be sure they are to the
receiver’s backhand. Seldom serve the same serve twice in a row. Change
something, even if it’s only the angle or velocity. Ask your instructor
or a friend to observe your serves during a game and give you
suggestions.
Your opponent always seem to control the rallies: Use more
ceiling shots and Z-shots. This will give you more time to get into
position and plan your next shot. Vary the power of your shots. Don’t
always hit the ball as hard as you can. Try for better placement and
less power. Plan your shot instead of just returning it to the front
wall.
