Tension: The amount of pressure in which a racquet is strung.
Thong: The rope or strap attached to the bottom of the handle of the
racquet and worn around a player’s wrist.
Three Walls Racquetball: An outdoor variety of the sport in which a
front wall and two partial or full sidewalls are utilized. The back wall
is replaced by a line on the playing surface.
Three Wall Serve: A fault serve in which the ball strikes three walls
in succession before bouncing on the floor. Also called a two side
serve.
Three Wall Shots: See Z-Ball.
Throat: The part of the racquet where the handle meets the head.
Tiebreaker: The third game of a match, which is usually played to 11
points.
Time Out: A rest period when play stops. Each player is allowed three
per game and two in a tiebreaker. The length is usually 30 to 60
seconds.
Topspin: The forward rotation of the ball that causes it to travel
downward and pick up speed after bouncing off the floor.
Touch: Superb racquet control.
Tournament Play: Organized competition in which a champion is
determined.
Trick Shots: An unorthodox shot used as a last ditch attempt to
return a ball. Usually sued when you are out of position.
Turtle: A type of player who is a slow shootist.
Two handed Backhand: A backhand shot hit using two hands in two
forehand grips on the handle, one hand above the other.
Two Sides Serve: See three walls serve.
