What happen to ...... Egan Inoue?

As of 03/11/03, two times former world racquetball champ Egan Inoue (1986 and 1990) is acting in the Hawaiian production of "Blood of the Samurai" series. Inoue will play the character of Shinzo, an evil counterpart to the samurai heroes on the show.

Inoue said enthusiastically of his first ever leading role in a television series, "I am very excited to get my first role in a series, especially that it is from Hawaii, filmed in Hawaii, and is Hawaii’s first action drama that is locally produced, I’ve always represented Hawaii in all of my endeavors and this is no different. I am honored that I’ve been selected." Spoken like a true elite racquetball champion from the heart with passion.

Although Egan’s grandfather began training young Egan in the art of Jujitsu at the age of four, he eventually settled on playing racquetball between ages 16-25.

He became a professional player and traveled the world and won two world racquetball championships. In 1986 in the sunny city of Orlando Florida, Egan Inoue of the USA defeated Roger Harripersad of Canada for the World Racquetball Championship. He won 15-2, 7-15, and 15-7.

Then four years later in 1990 he won the championship again over Tim Doyle (USA) by the scores of 13-15, 15-13, and 15-5.

In 1989, Inoue owned a 50 percent ownership in E-Force, a racquetball equipment company. In 1992, Inoue suffered a knee injury that sidelined him for a year. He managed to make a comeback but could not rise higher than sixth in the world’s rankings.

In 1993, he sold his stake in E-Force and returned to Jujitsu.

In 1996, Inoue won the World Brazilian Jujitsu Championship in the blue belt division. He was the first American to win the title. Inoue has tallied an impressive 11-3 record and opened up his own grappling school located in Halawa.

When ultimate fighter and former ultimate racquetball champion Egan Inoue is not training for his next fight, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His eldest daughter is five and already learning judo. Inoue also spends quality time with his customized Harley Davidson motorcycle, which by the way, has won all three shows that it has been entered in thus far.

Egan also has a famous younger brother Enson, who went on to become Shooto’s first ever Heavyweight Champion.
