Pro Corner Q & A:  Mike Locker

MM:   If you had to give three top tips for the average racquetballer, what would they be?

1. Always pick on your opponents weak points. Whether playing in league or tournaments, study your opponents strong and weak points and create a plan of attack for your match.

2. Practice, practice, practice. If you want to elevate your game to the next level, it is important to spend ample amounts of time on the court working primarily on your weaknesses. Do not shy away from your strong points but put emphasis on the weakest link(s) in hopes of generating a more consistent racquetball game.

It is also beneficial to work with a racquetball teaching pro or register for any camps or clinics in your area. They are very informational and can help incorporate practice/training drills tailored for your game.

3. I recommend that you participate in at least 2-3 racquetball tournaments not only to gain experience but also mental toughness. You can enjoy watching all of the different game styles and take bits and pieces from players and try to incorporate them into your game plan by practicing what you liked.
