Racquet Selection
1. Demo and see if you like the feel. Does it fit your game style?
2. Try different types of racquet within the
same brand.
3. Type of racquet balance? Head heavy, even
distribution, uneven distribution.
4. Try different tension range to see which one
works best for particular brands. Finding the correct string tension
is often a trial and error process, but manufacturer usually offer
suggestions based on extensive research.
5. Sometimes, you play better with certain
racquet brands at your level and as you continue to progress, your
racquet choice could ultimately change to match your style and
skills.
6. Other considerations include weight
(material*) and shape.
* Material cost considerations: Aluminum is
the cheapest material used to make a racquet. Next cheapest would be aluminum
fused with graphite, titanium/graphite and then the new graphite/combo fibers.
