Lob serve steps

Start with a relaxed and slightly bent sideway stance to the sidewall. Depending on the type of lob serve and the service location, you would choose the appropriate grip.

For example, if you were serving a high lofting Z-lob to the left corner from a service location of about four feet from the left wall, you would use a righty backhand grip for better angles and efficient service relocation.

Your feet placement is in a comfortable backhand and forehand stance. This is different from lining up both of your feet on the short line for the low and hard drive serves.

Be mentally relaxed, visualize the serve you want to serve, toss the ball with enough power to reach at least to chest height and toss it straight into the floor and have the ball bounce straight down and up for greater consistency.

Prepare the racquet with a relax but firm grip at around waist level or just slightly below, you want to hit underneath the ball, points the racquet face at about a 45 degree angle to the front wall, pick out a front wall target and aim for it.
