Lob Serve Sequence

  1. Visualize the serve, visualize front wall target, firm grip on racquet to control wrist errors, prepare racquet by holding it below the waist, around knees height and point it forty five degrees to the front wall, stretch out toss hand slightly for consistency and easily tucking it into the body, relax mentally, and enjoy the coming serve because you are in total control.

  2. Toss the ball far away enough for maximum extension and hitting it in the sweet spot and toss it to a height of approximately three to three and a half feet and come underneath the ball.

  3. Take a small step towards the intended front wall target, staying low and level throughout the entire service from the initial toss to relocation to center court.

  4. Tuck toss hand into the body, as the ball is rising to V=0. The lower body/legs initiate the motion and hit at three fourth powers.

  5. Eyes on the ball, stay level throughout the entire service sequence. Relax. Take your time.

  6. It is very important to follow through completely in the direction of the front wall target and of course staying level throughout the service sequence.

  7. Relocate to center court level and low as the stroke for coverage and consistency.
