Game plan ??

Having a game plan can not be stressed enough in this super fast game of racquetball. When you pit two equally opponents together, you will find that the player with a game plan has more consistent wins. Having a game plan means preparation in advance of the match to scout out your opponent’s likes and dislikes and his strength and weaknesses.

For example: When McClayson played tall lanky Joel Warrior on 10/01/03, his game plan was based on his previous encounters with the irrepressible JW. McClayson discovered that the last five games he played with JW, JW was hitting tons of winners on his backhand side, so MM’s game plan was based on hitting more serves to JW’s forehand and take advantage of the entire court, JW forehand, and JW’s grip switching time delay.

The result: A straight games match victory for MM against a solid racquetballer of JW’s caliber. JW had a tentative game plan of what he calls, "You Deal With It!" A catchy JW’s game plan, where he will rip angled serves and let McClayson deal with the velocity and angles while JW covers confidently in center court. It almost worked for JW as he got to 11-15 in game 2 in their best out of five games series. JW also scored 5 angled Z-service aces in the entire match, which is four better than their last match statistics.
