The Good, the bad
& the ugly

The Good: These four racquetball strategies are considered good because they are fundamentally sound and currently in vogue on the IRT and LPRA.

Pass/Pinch Strategy
This is one of the most basic racquetball strategies to playing high percentage racquetball. In this strategy, you pass to keep your opponent on the run and pin them deep and then finish frontcourt setups with pinches.

Pass/Pass Strategy
A close cousin to the Pass/Pinch strategy, where you utilize the down the line, crosscourt and wide-angled passes to keep your opponent on the run from one side wall to the other and pin them deep. This is an excellent strategy against the slow player who has difficulties with side movements and limited offensive range.

Physics Strategy
This strategy utilizes the opponent’s own momentum against them. You hit your return shot to the last place your opponent just vacated. This strategy is also popular in tennis: where a tennis player will hit his return shot behind his opponent, as his opponent is scrambling back to center court.

The Jam
This strategy should be placed in the ‘Bad’ category, because it is pretty ‘Bad’ in the good sense. This simple strategy entails that you keep hitting shots right at your opponent.
