Momentum
Our great game of racquetball is a game comprising of
photon low 180mph drives, amazing aerial diving gets, spectacular goofy
footed deep backhand rolled outs and feathery deceptive lobs and soft
pinches. Racquetball is a game that can go from the extremes of speeding
bullet scorching 190mph forehand blasts to the gentleness of a soft
25mph front court pinch shot.
To play this game well, a player must be
flexible to the ebb and flow of the game, his/her opponent’s style of
plays, he/she must constantly asks the questions, "what’s working and
what’s not working?", and remain focus and confident throughout. One of
the key ways to develop and maintain a strong mental game is to
understand the racquetball intangibles... Momentum.
What is Momentum? Who is Momentum? Momentum can be
fantastically represented both a menacing dragon or a faithful pet.
Definitively, momentum represents a constant variable in racquetball
plays. Momentum is colorful, unpredictable at times, and you better
understand it, or it will crushed you, like a nutcracker demolishes a
peanut! The following are three scenarios that show where Momentum may
strike and how to win her favor to hopefully tip Momentum to your side
to win that game or match.
