Tournament Tips & Reminders

1. Drinks lots of water. Bring your own bottled water to make sure that you are drinking enough water. Because usually when you are drinking from the drinking fountain, you are only wetting your lips and throat, and not properly hydrating your body for the strenuous sport of racquetball.

2. Take all of your timeouts in your match to rest, to slow down your opponents, to change momentum and to reassess your game plans.

3. If you are playing a lefty, test out their backhand with deep drives and Z-serves into the back right corner and see how they respond and then adjust your game accordingly. Hit more cross court backhand and feel them out.

4. Take your time on your service, take all 10 seconds to plan your serve, visualize your serve and tell yourself that you are in total control and hit a high percentage deep serve that does not come off the backwall and thus, forces your opponent to shoot from deep court, with you covering in the center.

5. Take your time on the return, raise your racquet almost every point to slow down the speedy server, make them play your pace, not the other way around.

6. Mix up your service.

7. Hit high percentage shots like Pass, Pass, and Pass.

8. Only pinch when you have a dead setup in the front court. Never ever re-pinch a pinch, because your opponent is right there to cover it.

9. Relocate to the coverage box behind the dotted line and set your feet and Get To Every Ball! The Only Shot that is irretrievable is the rolled out! Make your Opponent beat you with better and better shots!

10. Have Fun!
