Lefty
myths

Myth:
Playing against a lefty is too confusing
because everything changes too much: up is down, down is up, left is
right, right is left, red is blue, green is yellow, yikes! It will
create havoc on game plans and strategies.
Reality:
Consider having a lefty opponent as a
challenge. Lefties are people with different strengths and weaknesses.
You still need to hit a variety of shots to assess their game. For
example, if you find out that a lefty has a poor backhand down the line
ceiling shot, then pile on the pressure with crosscourt ceiling balls to
that side.
Myth: You need to hit special shots, sometimes even
high risks shots to win against a lefty:
Reality:
Playing a lefty does not mean that you
abandon high percentage plays. You still need to hit high percentage
passes, pinches and ceiling shots to increase your winning chances, just
like against a righty racquetballer.
Myth:
I read a book by this former FBI agent
that proves that Lefties are actually advanced beings from space to
observe our way of life and yes, to crush us righties mercilessly in
racquetball:
Reality:
This myth is totally true. Be very afraid.
Because we all know for a certain fact that the FBI is a highly
scientific organization that knows exactly what they are doing and why.
If you are playing a Lefty and they are hairless underneath that Head
T-shirt and have small antennas sticking out of their head, Run!... very
fast and in a zigzag pattern (it’ll make it tougher for them to stun you
with their deadly ray guns) and swing your racquet hard a couple of
times behind you just in case they pursue you.
