Mike Larsen, VRB Pro Am Tour Juggernaut and Shoreview YMCA
Champion: I’ve given Marcus McClayson so many ‘Donut
games’ to make a grown man cried his eyes out and just plain give up,
but inside the incorrigible McClayson burns a bright red racquetball
enthusiasm that even my weekly thumping of him in 1999 and 2000 could
not extinguished.
The man’s a virtual RB fanatic, you can beat him
twenty times in a row and he’ll come back for the 21st game
with the same renewed enthusiasm. McClayson is the true champ of RB in
my book because he loves the game so much! What those damned college
student know? Nothing, absolutely nothing! If you ask those racquetball wanna-bees to fetch you a handball racquets, they would all be trying to
search for one on E-bay. Please! McClayson rocks!
Vadim Rubinchuk, Chessmaster:
I’ve played chess with McClayson in 1997-1998
and he never gets discouraged, he’ll fight you in any position to the
death, he’ll sit there for six hours nursing a half a pawn advantage,
he’ll sit there calculating variations upon variations to halt your
kingside pawn storm attack, it is nearly impossible if you are not a
master chess player to squeeze a point out of the dry towel known as
Marcus McClayson.
McClayson is the average man with a pocket size
computer to analyze all of his opponents and an enthusiasm to discourage
most everyone that meets across the board. He doesn’t faze easy, I
watched him upset Russian International Master Mohammed in a blitz
tournament and McClayson just thought nothing of it afterward. McClayson
is all about the love of the game and sharing this with his comrades,
the Russian community loves Marcus McClayson!
