Novice Play
Playing with an enthusiastic novice
has positive racquetball advantages --
- Be proactive in promoting
racquetball by introducing another person to this great sport. Don’t
forget to inform them of the many benefits of racquetball such as:
weight loss, aerobic training, improves your eye sight, build lean
muscle mass, and release of positive endorphins.
- Because the ball is traveling
slower, the rallies are longer, novice play can allow for practice
on your control game. Focus on reading and watching the ball and
opponent. Also, work on hitting good deep shots with control to keep
many rallies going for the benefits of both players.
- In teaching a novice the
fundamentals of racquetball like basic stroke mechanics and court
positioning, you can refresher on pertinent racquetball technique
and strategies.
McClayson learned that sharing your hobby
with another enthusiastic individual is a worthwhile endeavor because it is a
win-win situation for both players: McClayson gets a refresher on the finer
points of racquetball fundamentals and working on his control game and the
novice gets to learn racquetball from a seasoned racquetballer. So go out there
and introduce another individual to racquetball. MM
